Graduate Development Programme

This is the business for graduates. Where else can you work on projects that affect so many millions of people? Or help to define the energy infrastructure of Britain? And who else consistently invests so much into graduate development?

Our rewards comprise an attractive salary and a flexible benefits package. These are reviewed regularly to make sure they're competitive. Graduates on the Development Programme receive:

  • A starting salary of  £25,600 for those candidates with a bachelors degree (or equivalent) or £26,600 for those with a Masters degree
  • £2,000 Welcome Payment
  • Accommodation allowance as you move around the business
  • Where there's a higher cost of living, we provide a supplement (Inner London, Metropolitan and Outer Metropolitan areas)
  • Pension scheme
  • 25 days' annual leave plus statutory holidays
  • Leisure facilities and events
  • Share save options

Also, as a new recruit with National Grid you are invited to join Newnet, our employee network for new starters.  With a whole range of events and activities organised by the members of Newnet, it's a great way of meeting people and enjoying yourself.  Some of the events are fundraisers - and that's as good a reason as any to get involved.  Plus there are many community and educational initiatives, along with 7 other themed employee resource groups.

Employee Resource Groups: We value and respect the strengths and differences among our employees, customers and communities.  As a way of fostering inclusion and diversity at National Grid, we have a number of employee resource groups.
