
Operating the gas network
Within Operations we spend £400 million running the gas emergency service, focusing on safe guarding life and property and responding to over 600,000 gas escapes. Additionally we provide metering services, replace complex gas mains in our cities, maintain the gas distribution above ground assets and connect new customers. We are passionate and proud of the service we provide to 10.8 million customers as we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the Lake District to the heart of London.
